            Bug ID: 927
Summary: Snippet for combining image sequences from pipe not
           Product: Libav
           Version: 9
          Hardware: X86
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: ---
         Component: general
          Assignee: bugzilla at libav.org
          Reporter: rick1987 at gmail.com

this is the first time I post here so sorry if I brake any rule.

I am not sure this is a bug, but possibly a documentation error.

I have tried the code snippet for "Combining image sequences which are spread
over multiple directories" from your wiki
(https://wiki.libav.org/Snippets/avconv) but I get the following output:

avconv version 11.6, Copyright (c) 2000-2014 the Libav developers
  built on Mar 5 2016 12:29:37 with gcc 4.9.3 (Ubuntu 4.9.3-8ubuntu2~14.04)
[image2pipe @ 0x2f9e120] Estimating duration from bitrate, this may be
Input #0, image2pipe, from 'pipe:':
  Duration: N/A, bitrate: N/A
    Stream #0.0: Video: mjpeg, yuvj420p, 1920x1080 [PAR 96:96 DAR 16:9], 25 tbn
Invalid input file index: 1.

and no file is generated.
I am on Ubuntu 14.04.

More in general I am trying to use avconv to create a video from a set of
images generated by another program.
I would like to use a named pipe for this. Could you please give me a hint on
how to do this?

Thanks and best regards.
