Hi Sean,

That is the problem I am reporting here. As I said in the description of this
bug avconv stops reading the file at frame 7426.

The test sample I've provided has 9020 (6min*60s*25fps + 20) frames.

If you run 
    avconv  -i DV-AVI-TYPE1.avi

it will tell you the details:
Input #0, avi, from 'DV-AVI-TYPE1.avi':
  Duration: 00:06:00.20, start: 0.000000, bitrate: N/A
    Stream #0.0: Video: dvvideo, yuv420p, 720x576, 28800 kb/s, PAR 64:45 DAR
16:9, 25 fps, 25 tbn
    Stream #0.1: Audio: pcm_s16le, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 1536 kb/s
