            Bug ID: 902
Summary: Missing / wrong matroska tags
           Product: Libav
           Version: git HEAD
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: ---
         Component: libavformat
          Assignee: bugzilla at libav.org
          Reporter: f.thiessen at gmx.de

Sample tags used in linked music file.

Problem 1:
libav can not proper tag or read matroska files / tags.
libav does not care about target-type and tag level.
So a lot of applications using libavformat does not recognize e.g. album of
music files or mix up album and track title.

I have attached a sample tag-file with valid tags,
if using libav it prints the album title (TARGET_TYPE 50) as track title
(TARGET TYPE 30).
Album title: Hungarian Dances
Track title: Hungarian Dance no. 8 - Presto in A minor

Here is the tagged audio file: http://os-sc.org/br/downloads/test.mka [^]
(music is public domain no worry)

You can verify that this is correct by opening the file with vlc and use: show
media info (CTRL + I).
Or use mkvinfo (remember to enable showing all informations in the menu bar).

Here are the matroska tagging specs:

See also this example for audio:

Problem 2 (enhancment if 1 is solved):

Please add the aliases used for e.g. ID3 tags for matroskas EBML:
DATE_RELEASE as date, PART_NUMBER / TOTAL_PARTS as part...
