            Bug ID: 801
           Summary: avconv erroneously reports files do not exist when the
                    user does not have read permission
           Product: Libav
           Version: git HEAD
          Hardware: X86
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: ---
         Component: utilities
          Assignee: bugzilla at libav.org
          Reporter: nsob1c12 at soton.ac.uk

When the user does not have read permission on input files, avconv incorrectly
claims that the files do not exist, when it should probably instead give the
error "Permission denied":

$ ls -l
total 8
----rw-r-- 1 neil neil 1322 Jan  5 09:07 test_000.bmp
----rw-r-- 1 neil neil 1322 Jan  5 09:07 test_001.bmp

$ ~/local/bin/avconv -i test_%03d.bmp out.avi
avconv version v12_dev0-631-g46808fd, Copyright (c) 2000-2015 the Libav
developers
  built on Jan  5 2015 09:12:14 with gcc 4.9.1 (Ubuntu 4.9.1-16ubuntu6)
test_%03d.bmp: No such file or directory

I have verified that when the user-read bit is restored on the same input
files, avconv behaves as expected, expands the input filenames properly and
successfully writes output.
